Welcome back to HailBrief.
Active week across a wide swath of the country — the Plains took the brunt of it, with the DC metro getting clipped on Sunday.
This Week's Hail Activity
🔴 HIGH PRIORITY
Lincoln, NE — Up to 2.75" hail confirmed, with a separate 4.0" report near Ottumwa, IA on June 10–11. Lincoln took hits on multiple consecutive days. 70 mph wind gusts, downed trees and power lines reported. High-density residential market — expect significant roofing and PDR volume.
Lawton, OK — 4.25" hail (larger than a baseball) confirmed June 11. Major damage threshold. Worth flagging for adjusters and contractors in the Southern Plains.
Wichita Falls, TX — 3.5" hail confirmed June 12. Major damage territory in a mid-sized market.
🟡 MODERATE
Omaha, NE — 2.0–3.0" hail confirmed across June 11 and June 13. Combined with the Lincoln events, the Nebraska corridor is active right now.
Washington DC / Northern Virginia — 2.25" hail confirmed Sunday (June 14) across DC, Arlington, Fredericksburg, and Winchester, VA. Dense vehicle and rooftop market. Worth a look for anyone working the Mid-Atlantic.
What to Watch — Next 7 Days
The SPC is tracking a significant severe weather setup for the Upper Midwest midweek — an intense jet streak is forecast to overspread the Great Lakes region by Wednesday, with conditions favorable for damaging winds and large hail across Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Ohio Valley. Southern Plains activity also remains possible through the week. Keep an eye on the I-90 corridor.
Forward this to a contractor or PDR tech working these markets.
